The three types of bows are long bow, re-curve and compound. Most people ask about crossbows too but when it comes to archery sport we don’t usually include them in general because they're more like hunting gear for men who want an extra power boost from their shot. The type that's best suited as a beginner would be something between these two: A Re-curve Bow which has its shoots curved towards yourself so you can buy one if necessary at any shop without worrying how much force will go into your hands; And also have fun trying out new techniques while learning all there.
- Bow Anatomy. We use a beginner re-curve bow as an example:
- What to pay attention when you touch a bow for the first time
Do Not Dry Fire! Touching a bow for the first time can be an exciting experience, but it is important not to dry fire your arrows. When you first touch a bow, it's very important that is not dry fired. This will damage both the bow and yourself if done without an arrow nocked onto its strings- potentially hurting people around you as well!
- Accessories
If you are just starting out with archery, then it may be a good idea to invest in some arm guards. This will help protect your arms from getting bruise with bow string splash. Finger tabs and quivers are popular as well but I recommend waiting until later
- String and unstring the bow
To ensure your bow lasts as long and keeps its strings in good condition, we recommend you unstring it after every practice session. To learn how to string a new one for yourself: https://archery-games-equipment.com/products/archery-games-re-curve-bow
- Make the purchase decision after a beginner archery lesson
You can't go wrong with a bow! After trying several different ones at your local archery range, you will know which one is right for YOU.
